Tara Ellevsen

Position: Executive Manager Partnerships

Tara is a proud Wiradjuri woman and an experienced leader with expertise in legal education, community engagement, policy development and advocacy across the Northern Territory. With a background in law and justice, she has led culturally grounded initiatives in Darwin, Katherine and East Arnhem, focusing on legal empowerment and self-determination in Aboriginal communities and the sector at large. Tara has worked across community legal services and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations in New South Wales and the Northern Territory, bringing a wide range of perspectives and skills to the role. Prior to commencing with Anglicare NT in September 2025, Tara held the position of Community Legal Education Coordinator at the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency.

Tara has a passion for First Nations workforce development and strengthening the Aboriginal Community Controlled sector in the Northern Territory. Tara manages Anglicare NT’s Partnership Support Service, focused on building capacity in Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and strengthening relationships across the sector, in addition to the implementation of our Reconciliation Action Plan. Tara is committed to maintaining Anglicare NT’s position as a genuine ally and advocate for Aboriginal people, communities and organisations in the Northern Territory.
