You can be like April – maybe not the marathon part…

Anyone who can run a marathon is a legend but what makes April a dead set legend is that she ran the Honolulu Marathon AND fundraised for a service at Anglicare NT that supports young people experiencing homelessness.

“Access to safe and suitable housing is a fundamental human right” said April who believes housing for young people should be a priority. “Our young people should be prioritised in securing fundamental support so that they can thrive in every aspect of their life and grow into the people they want to be!”

April chose where she wanted the $ to go

April has donated to our Youth Accommodation Support Service which supports young people aged 15-19 who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. The service is run in Katherine, Darwin, Palmerston and the rural areas.

April said “Anglicare NT are known in the community as a significant partner in supporting our young homeless Territorians, and I wanted to help in any way I can, both support through donations and to bring awareness.”

We run almost 90 services with the overarching aim of supporting people, strengthening communities and advocating for social justice. If you want to be a part of our work through donations, please get in touch.

You, like April, can choose which program you want to support. For April it was important to support young people who don’t have secure housing. Check out our other services to see if there are programs that appeal to your sense of social justice. https://www.anglicare-nt.org.au/services/
