Suicide Intervention and Awareness Training

The TESIAT program provides and coordinates suicide intervention and awareness training across the Top End of the Northern Territory. The program offers both the skills based 2-day Living Works Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop and a half day Suicide Awareness session – SafeTALK.

Anglicare NT has been presenting these workshops in the Top End since 1998 and has trained well over 6000 people from a wide range of service backgrounds including volunteers and community members.

ASIST and SafeTALK are founded on the principle that everyone can make a difference in preventing suicide and the fact that ‘suicide is everyone’s business’.

The 2018 program outlining ASIST workshops in Darwin and Katherine is available here. Workshops run from 9am – 4pm and lunch and morning tea are provided. Apply online here.

ASIST and SafeTALK are available in other towns and communities in the Top End. Please email tesiat@anglicare-nt.org.au for more information.
