National Redress Scheme

Anglicare NT has issued the following statement on membership of the National Redress Scheme:

Anglicare NT welcomed the establishment of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and we have contributed to its work. Having fully supported the work of the Royal Commission, we also backed the creation of the National Redress Scheme. In May 2018 we celebrated the NT Government’s decision to join up to the National Redress Scheme.

Survivors of institutional child sexual abuse deserve an acknowledgement of the abuse they suffered and to receive adequate support measures.

Anglicare NT, along with many other Anglicare sister agencies across Australia, has now joined the National Redress Scheme via a newly created coordinating entity known as the Anglican Representative National Redress Scheme Limited.

Our priority is the wellbeing of children and young people and their families. We continue to support the Scheme and all other measures stemming from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
