Early Learning Program Enrolling Now

The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) is a free early learning program that supports children to have the best possible start to school. Anglicare NT is currently enrolling children in the two year HIPPY program in Darwin North, Yurrwi and Katherine. HIPPY is open to families who have a child about 4 years old who would like to spend time with their child learning and having fun; support their child to start school confidently and connect with other local families.

HIPPY builds the confidence and skills of parents and carers by showing them how to be more involved in their child’s learning. A trained home tutor visits families at a time that suits them to support learning activities. Parents and carers can attend regular group gatherings to practice new activities, listen to guest speakers and participate in fun games that they can then try at home with their children. Families taking part in HIPPY receive a free set of activity packs, storybooks and other materials designed to help their child’s learning.

To be eligible to participate, families must live in the catchment areas of Katherine, Yurrwi or ‘Darwin North’ – which includes Ludmilla, Coconut Grove, Millner, Jingili, Moil, Anula, Wulagi, Malak, Wagaman and Karama. For more information, contact Anglicare NT on 8985 0000.
