Cultural Story Time

Anglicare NT’s HIPPY program in Katherine, together with Mimi Aboriginal Arts and Crafts, invites parents and their preschool children to attend weekly Cultural Story Time. Cultural Story Time will provide families with a creative space to interact with local artists. Art activities and a free morning tea will be available as part of each session.

“At Cultural Story Time, local artists will present their artworks and the cultural stories that the artwork depicts. There will be opportunities for community members and artists to create artworks and spend time sharing ideas and stories,” said Holly Kercheval, Anglicare NT Katherine Regional Operations Manager.

“The sessions will start on Tuesday 24th of May and will run every Tuesday from 10.30am-12.30pm during school terms. Everyone is welcome to join in, including families and children,” said Holly.

“Mimi Arts are excited to be hosting Cultural Story Time at our premises in Pearce Street. We are looking forward to being more actively involved with the wider community of the Katherine region through this joint activity with Anglicare NT,” said Dennis Stokes, Executive Officer of Mimi Aboriginal Arts and Crafts.

“Our artists have amazing cultural stories and experiences to share with others. Come along and hear some stories and have a go at making some art”.
