Chloe and Steph celebrate twenty years of service to our community
Chloe Yiannitsaros and Stephanie Bradley started working at Anglicare NT in 2005… twenty long years ago. In fact, when Chloe commenced, she was the same age Stephanie is now!
Over the past twenty years, the pair have shared a fabulous friendship. Stephanie is like a daughter to Chloe… and Chloe is like a young mum to Steph. Chloe is actually a mum to all her colleagues, regularly bringing in delicious treats like baklava, vanilla slice and spanakopita.
Chloe explains that back in 2005 there were about four staff in the Darwin aged care team, supporting around 17 older people. There were no laptops, only one shared computer for the team and invoices were written by hand. Aged care rosters were written on a white board – pretty easy to manage, all you need is a pen and eraser!
The team moved from Ludmilla to Wanguri, back to Ludmilla and then back to Wanguri before settling in at Winnellie. The first aged care participants were mostly from migrant backgrounds, which was a perfect match for Chloe who previously worked at the interpreting and translating service.
“It’s still fun working at Anglicare NT,” said Chloe. “Rostering is like a jigsaw puzzle and I love it. Our team always goes above and beyond and always follows guidelines. I’ve lived through many changes and have always been happy to learn new ways and change with the times.”
“It’s like a second home for me here. I never feel like I don’t want to go to work. Our staff are amazing. We are a great team and we support each other. It’s the best job I’ve ever done”
Stephanie has done a bit of everything at Anglicare NT. She started on reception and then helped with finance. She did admin support for the youth team and provided executive support for three CEOs. Another role incorporated IT, administration support, fleet and facilities, insurance and WHS! After a stint at admin, Stephanie started managing our aged care volunteer visitor program. In her spare time, Stephanie was also a volunteer visitor to an older person for three years.
“It’s the work we do for others and working with people like Chloe that has kept me at Anglicare NT for so long,” said Stephanie.
Congratulations and thank you Steph and Chloe.
