Financial and Gambling Counselling Services (Alice Springs)

Anglicare NT’s Financial and Gambling Counselling Services is a free service for people on a low income struggling with debt. The service provides assistance with debt problems, budgeting, bankruptcy, credit options, saving tips, gambling issues and referrals to other services.

Anglicare NT has provided financial and gambling counselling in Alice Springs for over five years.
The aim of the program is to educate, aid and support individuals and families with financial and gambling issues to develop an improved ability to manage their financial affairs and to make informed financial decisions.

In addition to individual casework and counselling, the Financial and Gambling Counsellor also undertakes a range of community education and community development activities to work proactively to lessen the impact of problem gambling and poor financial management on individuals and their families.

These activities include a range of financial literacy packages such as “Money Matters”, “Money Business”, “Money Minded” and “Responsible Gambling”
Other activities involve training staff in venues in “Responsible Gambling and Problem Gambling Awareness.”

Access: The counselling office is wheelchair accessible but toilets have not been adapted.
