Financial counselling is a free, non judgemental and confidential service.

Financial counselling is the provision of remedial, preventative and advocacy services for people in financial distress, or who are in danger of entering financial distress with a focus on people of low income.
A financial counsellor will conduct casework, individual and group advocacy, community education and social action.

Financial counselling is also a profession in the areas of credit law and debt collection practice. We assist debtors understand and exercise their rights and responsibilities in relation to their debts. Social justice is the philosophy underpinning financial counselling practice.

A financial counsellor does not:

• Charge a fee for service 
• Judge a client 
• Take control of their client’s finances 
• Give out emergency relief
