Thanks to Anglicare Volunteers

National Volunteer Week provided an opportunity for Anglicare NT to celebrate the ongoing commitment and effort of our volunteers. Community Visitor Scheme volunteers in Darwin were treated to a sunset event at the Darwin Surf Life Saving Club. The Community Visitors Scheme aims to enrich the lives of socially and/or culturally isolated residents in aged care homes and Home Care by matching care recipients one to one with a volunteer visitor who visits a minimum of once a fortnight. Against a backdrop of a gorgeous sunset over the sea, volunteers enjoyed relaxed drinks and canapés. Speeches of thanks were made by Anglicare NT CEO Dave Pugh and Community Volunteer Coordinator Colleen Harbinson. Pins of volunteer service were awarded to volunteers from Darwin, Palmerston and Tennant Creek. Pins were also presented to Anglicare volunteers in Katherine and Alice Springs at separate events.

Pins of service in Darwin and Tennant Creek for 2015 go to:
1 year: Robyn Appleby; Christine Bell; Sudeshna Cheerath; Leonie Conn; Mary Grace Francis; Kelly James; Deborah Josling; Meg McGrath (Tennant Creek) Kate Richmond; Jeanette Shipp; Sujatha Thomas; Shae Watson; Clare Whelan; Stephanie Wolfe; Kate Woods
